Intensive Tutoring (13 years and under)

Intensive tutoring is provided by a BCBA for students needing a highly structured and intense level of instruction in order to achieve fluency in academic, social, communication and/or self care skills. Intensive tutoring involves the following components:

• 1:1 instruction, four or more hours a week
• based on the principles of ABA
• empirically-validated positive programming, including: task analysis, adaptations, multi-sensory instruction, prompting, errorless learning, and differential reinforcement
• individualized curriculum based on functional behavior and skill assessments
• focus on building social, communication, and academic skills, while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning and making friends.
• data-based decision making and program planning
